Privacy policy

This notice describes how the personal data of visitors to scocchiacristina.it is processed. It is provided pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the «GDPR»), which covers data collected from the data subject, and to Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018.

In short: this website consists of static pages. It uses no cookies, installs no tracking technologies, hosts no contact forms and loads no resources from third-party servers. The only data processed is what the hosting server records automatically in order to deliver the pages and keep the service secure, together with whatever a visitor chooses to send to the email address given below.

Data controller

The data controller is Cristina Scocchia, who can be reached at cristinascocchia20 at gmail dot com.

No data protection officer has been appointed, as the conditions set out in Article 37 of the GDPR do not apply.

Data processed and purposes

Browsing data

The computer systems and software procedures that operate this website acquire, in the course of their normal functioning, certain data whose transmission is inherent in the communication protocols of the Internet. This information is not collected in order to be associated with identified data subjects, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, make it possible to identify users.

This category includes IP addresses, browser and operating system identifiers, the addresses of the resources requested, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file returned in response and the numerical code indicating the status of the response.

This data is recorded in the hosting provider's log files and is processed for the sole purpose of delivering the pages, ensuring the security and stability of the service and establishing whether the site has been misused or attacked. The legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest in providing the service securely, pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Browsing data is not used to profile visitors or to produce audience statistics: no traffic analysis tool is installed on this website.

Email correspondence

Sending a message to the email address shown on this page entails the acquisition of the sender's address and of any other personal data contained in the message, which are needed in order to reply. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the data subject's request under Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, or the controller's legitimate interest in responding to the enquiry under Article 6(1)(f), depending on the content of the message. Messages are kept for as long as is needed to handle the enquiry and thereafter for any period required by law.

Please do not include in your message special categories of personal data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR, such as data concerning health, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions or trade union membership: providing such data is not necessary in order to receive a reply.

Cookies and tracking technologies

This website does not use cookies, whether first or third party, nor any other technology that stores information on the visitor's device or accesses information already stored there within the meaning of Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003. No persistent identifiers, local storage, session storage, fingerprinting or comparable techniques are used.

For this reason no consent banner is shown: as there is no processing that would require consent, a banner would serve no purpose. Further details are set out in the cookie policy.

External content and links

Every resource needed to display the pages (stylesheets, typefaces, images and PDF documents) is hosted on the scocchiacristina.it domain. Simply browsing the site therefore involves no transmission of data to third-party servers. The pages embed no video players, maps, social network widgets or other content served from external domains.

The pages do contain links to external sites: the newspapers and magazines that published the articles listed in the press section, video platforms and social network profiles. These links are followed only at the visitor's initiative. Once a link has been followed, data processing is governed by the privacy notice of the destination site, over which the controller has no control and for which the controller is not responsible.

Recipients of the data

Browsing data is processed by the hosting provider, Netsons S.r.l., based in Pescara, Italy, appointed as a processor pursuant to Article 28 of the GDPR, strictly within the technical operations required to deliver the service. An up-to-date indication of the appointed processors may be requested from the controller at the address given above.

The data is neither disseminated nor disclosed to other parties, except where disclosure is required by law or is necessary in order to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

The data is processed on servers located within the European Economic Area. No transfers to third countries are envisaged. Should any become necessary in the future, they will take place only on the basis of an adequacy decision of the European Commission or of appropriate safeguards under Articles 44 et seq. of the GDPR, and this notice will be updated accordingly.

Retention period

Log files are kept by the hosting provider for as long as is necessary for the technical and security purposes described above, as a rule for no more than twelve months, unless they must be kept longer in order to establish liability for unlawful acts or at the request of the judicial authorities.

Email messages are kept for as long as is needed to handle the enquiry and to complete any subsequent obligations.

Whether providing data is required

Providing browsing data is necessary in order for pages to be transmitted over the network: without it, communication is not technically possible. Providing the data contained in an email message is entirely voluntary, but declining to do so makes it impossible to reply to the enquiry.

Rights of the data subject

Visitors may exercise at any time the rights granted by Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, and in particular the right to:

  • obtain confirmation as to whether processing is taking place and access their personal data;
  • obtain the rectification of inaccurate data or the completion of incomplete data;
  • obtain the erasure of their data, in the cases provided for by Article 17;
  • obtain the restriction of processing, in the cases provided for by Article 18;
  • receive their data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, where the conditions of Article 20 are met;
  • object at any time, on grounds relating to their particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interest.

Requests should be addressed to the controller at cristinascocchia20 at gmail dot com. A reply is provided without undue delay and in any case within one month of receipt; that period may be extended by two further months where the request is particularly complex, in which case the data subject will be informed.

Complaint to the supervisory authority

Anyone who considers that the processing of their personal data infringes applicable law may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome, following the procedure set out at www.garanteprivacy.it, or bring proceedings before the courts.

Automated decision-making

The controller carries out no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR.

Changes to this notice

This notice may be updated to reflect changes to the website or to applicable law. The version published on this page is the one in force. Should the website in future introduce technologies that store information on the visitor's device, this notice will be updated before they are activated and, where required, consent will be collected.
